Well done to Grace and Jamie in Reception, who both got certificates in collective worship this morning for their excellent handwriting this term. Jamie won for most consistent handwriting and Grace won for most improved. As well as their certificate they were given a special pencil as a prize. Well done you two!

Christmas Science Investigation!
This afternoon we looked at lots of different Christmas things, like stockings, baubles, cards and Christmas decorations. We talked about what materials they were made from, such as wood, plastic or glass. Then we talked about their properties - were they bendy, soft, hard, fragile? We explored whether things were opaque or transparent, and used a torch to test if our plastic Father Christmas window decoration was translucent. We talked about why things are made from certain materials - you wouldn't want a stocking made of metal, or wrapping paper that was made of wood!

Christmas Cards
This morning we've been working hard to make our Christmas cards to send home to our families. We've been busy with bubble wrap, sponges and paint to make lovely prints of Christmas trees!
We wrote messages to go inside, wishing our mums, dads, brothers and sisters a merry Christmas!

Whoops-a-daisy Angel!
Today we had our first performance of our Christmas play, Whoops-a-daisy Angel! We performed it to the rest of the school and all the teachers, and everyone said we did a great job. We remembered to sing nicely in all the songs and to give the audience big smiles! Tomorrow we are performing it to all our family members!
