The Christmas Story

This afternoon we have been learning about the important people in the nativity story. We retold the story, thinking about who all the important people were. Then we looked at our nativity figures and worked out who they were. We could see which was baby Jesus straight away! We knew Mary was in blue, and we worked out who the kings were "because they're holding presents for the baby." We also knew who the shepherd was "because he's got a sheep." That meant the other man was Joseph.

We placed the nativity figures so they were around baby Jesus, then recreated the picture ourselves! Some of us were the characters and some of us were in charge of moving people and telling them how to stand. We had to think about whether we were standing or kneeling, if we were holding something and what we were doing with our arms.

Here is the picture of our nativity figures and us making the same picture!
